YETI Presents: The Devils

YETI Presents: The Devils

The Devils River runs through the middle-of-nowhere Texas. Paddle trips require a two-hour drive to hit water and then it’s 47.7 miles of slow-moving pools, quick rapids, and some of the most pristine fishing in the Lone Star State. Join fly-fishing guide Alvin Dedeaux and tournament fisher Miles Burghoff as they take on the Devils River and connect over their shared love of angling.

This is on my bucket list of fishing.

  6. RapscallionXXX on January 13, 2022 at 9:39 pm

Those hills and buttes are limestone laid down 100mya when the sea covered much of south Texas. Eventually tectonic forces lifted up the sea bed and exposed it, and the shoreline eventually wound up where it is now, on the Gulf of Mexico.

  8. Aaron Brenneman on January 13, 2022 at 9:41 pm

Sometimes to find something in life you have to get lost. What more could you ask for then to fish in the middle of nowhere.

  9. albertnava02 on January 13, 2022 at 9:41 pm

Cool video, but it also contributed to depleting the natural fishery of the river. This was a well kept secret, not no more. I’ve done the trip several times and the traffic on this river has dramatically increased and many people think it is contributed to the video Yeti produced.

  10. Grady Manuel on January 13, 2022 at 9:47 pm

    Jon b. fished this spot

  11. Michel on January 13, 2022 at 9:49 pm

  12. Jordan Hendricks on January 13, 2022 at 9:52 pm

  13. Jonny Granville on January 13, 2022 at 9:53 pm

Didn’t I see Alvin on Meateater Das Boat?

  14. chuck on January 13, 2022 at 9:53 pm

I think Alvin could use a little more screen time in our internet outdoor adventures, between his episode on Das Boot and this little gem, he really strikes me as a guy that gets it. I will definitely look for more of him.

  15. macadamia on January 13, 2022 at 9:56 pm

they made it sound like you have to drive through miles of desert trails to get there. the 90 freeway takes you there and even crosses it. and there is a town called lake view right next to it.

Rtic is cooler!!! They split ties from NRA after a school shooting that had nothing to do with them, responsible gun owners, or coolers.

Most uplifting in numerous ways. This makes me feel relaxed in regard to the future of USA, activities like this never make headlines, like the river, it just flows into the course nature offers it.

  42. Kyle Parkinson on January 13, 2022 at 10:26 pm
